We have had Irish setters since 1975, hiding the first puppy, Maggie, in our apartment for three days before we could move into our house. We acquired Rocky several years later. Over the next several decades, we had Tocky, Rocky II and Jake. When Jake became very ill, and we lost him at 5 years old, it was soon after that when I found our breeder, (the Wilson's in Lewiston NY)..and then the story goes on...starting with Ian. And how our lives have changed !!!
Bea came to stay with us in June 2011 and never left. After about 3 or 4 weeks, Bea became Skip's dog! She follows him everywhere. Wherever Skip is, you will find Bea. She is now a part of our family.
Bea came to us with 11 points that included 3 majors and a Best Puppy in Show from the Cleveland Crown Classic, 2008.
We entered her in a few more shows. She was WB for 2 pts. in Cleveland 2011. She was RWB at our spring specialty. She finally finished her Championship at Canfield in August with her 4th major. Coleen handled Bea prior to her coming to us and last December.. We thank Kim Haupt for taking over the reigns and finishing her championship.
Lizzie is our “special” girl, born with a disability where balance is affected. She managed over the years to master everything but going down a full flight of stairs. She is the happiest dog on earth. She never has a bad day. She loves to travel and meet people. She has become our show star as everyone comes looking to visit with her. She has taught us what determination is. With patience and on her terms, she was able to do all that we asked of her and earn her CGC and CGCA titles. We were told that she would probably never see her first birthday. Born in 2013, she is 7 years old as of this year.
